Opened in 1998, the Alaska SeaLife Center operates as a 501(c)(3), non-profit research institution and public aquarium in Seward, Alaska. The Center generates and shares scientific knowledge to promote understanding and stewardship of Alaskaā€™s marine ecosystems. The Center is Alaska's only permanent marine mammal rehabilitation facility and responds to animals in distress along 34,000 miles of coastline.

The coronavirus pandemic and its effects have been uniquely devastating for the Alaska SeaLife Center. While our non-profit mission includes marine research, education, and wildlife response, we earn the majority of our revenue over the summer. Itā€™s obvious this summer tourism season is just not going to be the same. ASLC expects annual visitor revenues to be reduced by 70%.

In addition to being a top destination for Alaskaā€™s visitors, the Center is a home for invaluable research about the ocean, arctic and subarctic marine wildlife, climate change, and more. Itā€™s the stateā€™s only permitted facility to respond to stranded marine mammals. Itā€™s an important part of Alaskaā€™s science education system, providing educational opportunities and research to students all around the state and around the world through distance programs.

If half of all Alaskans donated just $10, we could reach our goal. If 100 people from each state in the US donated $50, weā€™d be well on our way to meet our goal. We understand that this is a hard time for all, but we need your support now so we can be here for you tomorrow.

How much can you raise? $5, $10, $100, $1,000? Every donation counts, please step up and show how much you care about Alaska's marine animals.

Please help me save the Alaska SeaLife Center!
"Dear friends and family, I have had many wonderful times at the center with my family! ISABELLA and I slept at the center near the area of the sea lions when we had a field trip last year it was fantastic. Everything about the center is special. It gives a up close and personal view of Alaska and it’s marine life. The center is so important to teaching us how to co- exist with nature. The center rehabilitates marine life to return to the sea if possible. I have purchased paintings done by birds from the center and received amazing framed photos of the marine life. I love rocks and was able to buy geodes and a amazing mineral book at the center. Please join me and help keep this Alaskan resource so desperately needed OPEN! Thank you for your time and please help if you are able. Thank you big love and hugs! š¯“›š¯“²š¯“¼š¯“Ŗ š¯“—š¯“Ŗš¯“·š¯“®š¯”‚
